A series is a collection of blog entries connected by a common theme. Over time each series will grow into a volume which can be reviewed as a standalone series, or as part of the day-to-day activity of the blog.

Following an open call for submissions, Building Material, the journal of the Architectural Association of Ireland, has established this online gallery on the theme of mapping.
We initially sought submissions that explored mapping as a means of analysing and understanding the effects of our current position in the economic cycle on architecture and the built environment. We looked for submissions from all disciplines including anthropologists, archaeologists, artists, cartographers, geographers, illustrators, sociologists, scientists, surveyors… and architects.
The theme was widened to reflect the range and variety of techniques in mapping today.
