Maurice Craig Award- new category for thesis projects

Awards 27- Graduate award: Dublin. November 10 2011, 6:00pm

The AAI are pleased to announce that the first Maurice Craig Award will be bestowed upon the winning submission in the Architectural thesis category of the awards this year. This is a new independent award category which attempts to continue and expand upon the work of the student section of the OPUS awards, which has been discontinued.

It is open to all Architectural Graduates from the schools of Architecture on the island of Ireland. Projects must have been completed within 12 months of the submission deadline. One entry per student is permitted. The fee per entry is €30, and all entrants must hold current AAI membership.

This award will be bestowed at the discretion of the jury as a separate category in the general awards scheme. Up to three further commendations may also be awarded.


This award honours the Belfast-born architectural historian, conservation advocate, writer, and poet Dr. Maurice Craig who passed away in May 2011.
