Organisation
The Architectural Association of Ireland was founded in 1896 ‘to promote and afford facilities for the study of architecture and the allied sciences and arts, and to provide a medium of friendly communication between members and others interested in the progress of architecture’. We promote a public lecture series and an annual awards scheme. In addition to our Building Material journal, we publish an annual book in the New Irish Architecture series based on the awards exhibition. Visit our events page to be kept up-to-date with AAI lectures, site visits and exhibitions. The lectures are presented with the co-operation of the Department of History of Art and Architecture, Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology.
